  • Braden has been enjoying all the time we spend with Cindy, Peter and Corbin lately.
  • Braden is officially enrolled in preschool for next year.
  • I have started to study for my CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) exam. This will give me national certification as a health educator. I hope to become Elizabeth Wysocki CHES after April 26th.

Our latest pictures

I was playing with Reese's hair. It is so long on top.

We took Braden and Reese for a walk in the wagon the other day. It was a bit cold, but I couldn't resist the sunshine.

I have a new skill: making cars out of play-doh. (From right to left) Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sheriff, and the Piston Cup. (All from the movie, Cars)

Lots of Laughing!

Cindy, Peter and Corbin came over yesterday for dinner. Peter caught this little episode on video! It was so funny. We have been able to make Reese laugh but only Braden can really make her really laugh!

Reese's Six Month Appointment

Reese is healthy and thriving! She is now a healthy 17lbs which places her in the 75th percentile. She is also hitting all her milestones (moving items from one hand to another, sitting up, etc). She is now at the age where she doesn't like being on the doctor's table, away from me. I have noticed that babies don't get too upset until about 6 months of age regarding going to see the doctor. Braden has just started doing well with doctor visits. She received 3 shots today so she is sleeping soundly as we speak. She is also getting some bottom teeth. It is hard to tell how many because they haven't popped out yet! I am guessing at least two. She sits up with out support but is not crawling yet.

The conversations I have with Braden

Braden LOVES to talk. I have to giggle a bit when a stranger comes up to Braden and says "hi" and he just turns away and is shy. Some will then say, "oh you don't talk much, do you?" I want to tell them about how he talks from the minute he wakes up to the minute he goes to sleep.

These are a few pieces of conversation that always make me smile:

#1

How are you Braden?

Braden: " I good"

#2

How's that Braden?

Braden: "Perfect"

#3

What's your name?

Braden: "Braden Michael Socki"

What's my name?

Braden: "mama socki"

#4

We are on a walk. Braden and Reese are in the stroller. Braden's favorite movie character is Lightning McQueen, from Cars.

Braden: "Mama, what's that?"

Me: "What is it Braden?"

Braden: "Red car, mama. Race car. It's Lightning McQueen!"

FYI, there are lots of red cars when we go for a walk!

#5

Braden are you ready to take a nap?

Braden: "No. I stay here."

Here are some pictures of the little ones.

Picture Post

Well, it has been a long day for Braden, Reese and me. With out getting too detailed, I think we have had our LAST picture experience with Sears Portrait Studios.

We are all hanging out watching Baby Einstein. It was a great opportunity to take some pictures.

FYI--Cindy, Peter and Corbin are doing well.

So much to say

Brian

Brian has been very busy at work. He has been working on two big projects that have ASAP deadlines. Besides work, this is Brian's favorite time of year: Tax Season! He loves doing our taxes and he did them in record time this year.

Lizzy

I have been enjoying my time with Braden and Reese. I have also decided to update my resume and start searching for a part time job. I am looking for something that will be flexible with its hours so that I am still able to spend time at home, but I have something else to call my own.
I have also begun a search for a school for Braden next year. There are preschool programs for 2-3 year olds. They are typically 2 days a week for 2 hours. He asks to go to school, so why not! I think he would love it. Finding a school close is the difficult part. I think I have some leads but am still searching.

Braden

Braden's language skills have really taken off. He is talking about everything and doing it quite well. His memory is also exceptional. He knows locations without us telling him where we are. He also remembers out outings well. We all went to Friday's for dinner a few weeks ago and he keeps asking to "go to dinner". We also bought him a "Thomas the Train" potty, but he isn't too interested just yet. He has humored me a few times by sitting on it, but he still prefers the diaper. (He can also count to 10 in Spanish!)

Reese

Reese is sitting up very well. She is reaching for EVERYTHING now. She is still nursing wonderfully and growing, growing, growing. I just can't believe she is almost 6 months old. She is eating all the veggies now and has started on the fruits. She loves to be around Braden. I just love the way she looks at him.

Also, Cindy and Peter had a baby boy January 30th at 11pm. Corbin Brady Neorr was 8lbs12oz.

We are going to head over there either today or tomorrow to meet their new addition.
